Save Noble Woods.
Address Road Safety in Hillsboro

We are a neighbor-led coalition committed to preserving local ecology and the safety of our community. Join us in advocating for a smarter approach to Century Blvd.

Why this Matters

We are neighbors advocating for a safer Washington County that prioritizes the preservation of forested spaces and wetlands. The Century Blvd Extension Project poses significant impacts to our community’s infrastructure and quality of life. Our concerns center on increased neighborhood traffic along walking routes to 4 schools,  lack of planning for pedestrian and bicycle traffic at crosswalks and intersections across Century, and habitat and wetland destruction in Noble Woods Park. We are working to ensure our voices are heard by the Hillsboro City Council and Washington County Board of Commissioners to protect our neighborhood’s future.

Neighbors' Concerns:

In the fall, my child will walk to Century HS. I also go for a run several times a week through Noble Woods. I chose to buy a house in this neighborhood after being a renter here specifically because of the easy access to green space and safe routes to schools. Extending Century Blvd will destroy wetlands and make it less safe for kids to walk to school.

Leif Eccles

I am a birder and photographer, and Noble Woods is one of the most special parks ever to me. I have spent hundreds upon hundreds of hours there, mainly photographing the barred owls. it is the park that sparked my love for owls in general, which is integral to who I am as a person. I feel a deep connection and reverence to the park and enjoy its diversity of bird species and other wildlife, so I don't want any of it being destroyed. I also am concerned about the safety of the intersections, especially at the Borwick entrance - I feel that it is a precarious place for a road with many points of conflict.
